Brian Barney is a film and theatre director whose background comes from decades of stage work, at one point acting in 5 to 6 plays per year, representing nearly every era, genre, and style of theatre.  A wide range of film projects as a writer/director include the shorts Oranges and Third Avenue, and a collection of video scenes about romantic (and not so romantic) relationships called Passionate Zeros.  He also executive produced and edited the hard-hitting, gritty drama Magda, a short film written and directed by Sandra Brunell.  Brian's theatre directing credits include Steve Martin's outrageous farce The Underpants, adapted from a play by Carl Sternheim, and the very darkly humorous drama The Pillowman written by Martin McDonagh, both at Bruka Theatre in Reno, Nevada. After a recent move to New York City, Brian's latest short film, Terrain Razzari (Razzari Field), was shot in France and is currently screening at several festivals worldwide.
